This year for Christmas my mom totally surprised me and bought me the Clarisonic Mia! I was so happy and excited to try it out. I actually wanted a Clarisonic Mia for a long time, but due to the high price tag, I could never actually bring myself to buy it. I’m all for taking good care of my skin but I wasn’t even really sure if it would be worth it. Would it really make cleaning my face easier? Would this $130 tool really help clear my skin and make it smooth? Glowing? Healthier?
Those were the questions I was asking myself before my mom bought it for me and I had the chance to actually try it out, and I’m sure if you’re reading this, you might have the same questions, so after using the Clarisonic Mia for about two months, I’m here to give you the answers.
Just a quick reminder before I continue with the review, everybody’s skin is different. Not only do we all have different skin types, but what works for one person might not work for someone else. We also all have different preferences, so the things one person likes in a product might differ from others.
What it is
The Clarisonic Mia is a one speed facial cleansing brush that claims to clean 6x better than your hands and is suitable for all skin types. The device is waterproof and rechargeable. It comes with one standard brush head, but they do offer a variety of heads for different skin types and conditions. It also comes with a Universal Voltage USB charger.
The Clarisonic Mia works to cleanse your face by loosening and removing dirt and oils from your skin. The speed at which the brush head goes is perfect for getting out all of the built-up dirt, makeup, or oil that your hands might not be able to remove.
Not only does the Clarisonic Mia promise “beautifully clean skin”, as if that wasn’t enough to want to rush out and buy it right away, it also comes in gorgeous colors. Mine is pink and honestly, isn’t it the prettiest thing you’ve ever seen?! It’s definitely a product that’s visually appealing.
My thoughts
I primarily have oily skin, with a few dry patches that show up every once in a while, (like when it’s really fucking cold out). I also struggle with a little bit of acne, that I’ve gotten pretty under control after switching over to Mario Badescu products exclusively. My biggest problem though is that I’m lazy and when it comes to washing my face and taking all, and I mean ALL, of my makeup off at the end of the night, I sometimes miss spots or I don’t get deep down enough and really clean my skin. That was the main reason why I wanted to try the Clarisonic Mia so badly. I was hoping it would help me get all of my makeup off and make my skin super clean, but I was a little skeptical.
The set that I got actually came with the Clarisonic Refreshing Gel Cleanser, which I wasn’t too sure if I should use or not. My skin is sensitive and random products cause it to break out, bad. I finally found good products, that work wonders for my acne and I didn’t know if bringing a new product into the mix would mess that up or not. At the same time though, I wanted the full “Clarisonic experience”, so I decided to use the gel cleanser it came with.
The first time I used it, I was a little scared. I wasn’t sure how the brush head was going to feel, if it would irritate my already sensitive skin or not. To my surprise though, it was actually really gentle. It wasn’t harsh or rough on my skin, but at the same time I could really feel the brush cleaning much deeper than my hands ever could. Immediately after using the Mia on my face for 60 seconds, my skin felt really soft, like I had just exfoliated, which is essentially what it’s doing.
After I cleanse my face, I always go in with a toner. Usually though, I tend to see a little makeup on the cotton pad while using the toner, due to not getting it all off while cleansing. After using the Mia though, there was absolutely no makeup left on my face, I triple checked too! It was a major shock to me, realizing that I was never getting all of my makeup off using just a cleanser with my hands and that it was, in fact possible to actually get it all off using the Clarisonic Mia.
After using the Clarisonic Mia for two months, I’ve noticed a huge difference in my skin. It feels softer, it’s clearer, and I’m having less breakouts. It makes cleaning my face easy, which means I don’t ever skip out on it when I’m feeling lazy like I used to.
So is it worth it?
Honestly, saying I was impressed by the Clarisonic Mia would be an understatement. I’ve seen a huge improvement in my skin since using it for just two months! It thoroughly cleans my skin, removing all makeup, dirt, and oil. It exfoliates, it’s super easy to use, and it’s quick. It’s also easy to clean, and it has a long battery life. The size also makes it ideal for travelling, so you can bring your “beautifully clean” skin everywhere with you.
I would, without a doubt, say that the Clarisonic Mia is so totally worth it. The price is high and the cost of replacement heads is a little high as well, but if a product works well the price is 100% justified in my opinion. The way I view it is, if you’re absolutely blown away by the results of a product and it makes you happy to use, use it!
I’m so happy my mom overheard me telling my sister I wanted one of these and surprised me with one. She’s literally the best! My skin is something that makes me insecure, so if I can take an extra step to really take care of it and see improvement it makes me so happy.
oooooo i was wondering if i should get this but not seen any reviews on it! i mat have to try for myself now ? x
I've heard a few people rave about this product. Apparently you can use it to apply makeup As well if you buy a separate brush. Despite the price tag I do think it sounds like a good investment! Great post 🙂

Glad to hear you love it! I really like using it for that deep clean- I don’t use it every day (maybe I should) but I whip it out when my skin feels congested and it helps so much! It really does leave your skin so clean it’s crazy!! You’ve inspired me to use mine tonight! Xx Jen
