What Is It?
Youth To The People is a skincare brand that’s well known for their products formulated with superfood ingredients. This vegan skincare brand focuses on not only high quality products, but also on sustainability and giving back. They’re super popular and there’s no denying that. One of their best, award-winning products is their cleanser.
The Youth To The People Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser is a powerful, but gentle, face cleanser that’s formulated with superfood antioxidants. It works to prevent build up in pores, remove makeup, and balance pH without drying or stripping. It sells for $36, (for 8 FL OZ/237 mL), and can be found in beauty stores and online, (Sephora, Nordstrom), as well as directly on the Youth To The People website.
This gel-texture cleanser has a number of beneficial, and amazing, ingredients. Kale that’s rich in skin-loving phtyo-nutrients. Spinach that soothes, moisturizes, and cools skin. Plus green tea that’s packed with antioxidants. It also contains Vitamins C and E, and Aloe Vera. All ingredients are 100% vegan. The Superfood Cleanser is also formulated with no parabens, phthalates, or sulfates. This cleanser is also good for all skin types, from oily to dry, including acne-prone and sensitive skin.
The glass packaging is super cute, but also recyclable too. In fact, the box and plastic pump are recyclable too! You can also purchase a more environmentally-friendly refill size of the Superfood Cleanser that’s 16 oz., to refill your smaller jar.
First Impressions
Since recently clearing my acne and getting it under control, my latest skincare goal has been to work on strengthening my skin’s barrier. I have combination skin, (Some areas of my skin produce more oils, while other areas are normal, and some get dry or irritated, especially in the cold weather). I also have really sensitive skin. With all of that being said, my skin can often feel stripped after cleansing. Right away, I love that the Youth To The People Superfood Cleanser states that it helps to maintain skin’s pH levels. It gives hope that this cleanser won’t make my skin feel dry or damaged after using.
The box says to massage 1-2 pumps onto slightly damp face and neck, adding more water gradually if needed, as you massage for one minute, then rinse. So that’s exactly what I did! It has a very clean, fresh, natural-herby scent. It’s noticeable, but not off-putting at all, and I actually really like it.
The texture of the Youth To The People Superfood Cleanser is really nice. It has a clear gel-like consistency when it first comes out of the pump, but it lathers into a more rich and creamy formula. You can feel it really cleansing your skin, but when you rinse and dry, your skin doesn’t feel dry or tight. Skin is left simply feeling clean and hydrated.
I’m also seriously obsessed with the packaging of the Youth To The People Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser. The glass jar looks super cute on my bathroom counter, I love the easy to use pump, and I also love that it’s recyclable!

Final Thoughts
I find myself reaching for this cleanser most nights, as the second step in my double-cleanse routine. I love how it’s effective at cleansing skin and removing impurities, but it’s also extremely gentle. My skin always feels soft and hydrated after using it. I also feel like this cleanser helps soothe areas of my face that are more dry or irritated due to the cold, dry winter air. (Or at the very least doesn’t irritate those areas more). It also works well with other products in my skincare routine.
As for all of the skin-loving ingredients included in the Superfood Cleanser, I’m not sure if they really benefit you or not. A cleanser typically isn’t on your skin long enough to absorb ingredients like Vitamin C or Vitamin E. However, I do think that soothing ingredients like green tea and aloe are beneficial in a cleanser, since they help with keeping skin hydrated, and not dry or stripped after. Either way, these ingredients don’t do any harm in a cleanser, so I consider it an extra luxury in my routine.
Although it could seem pricey for a cleanser, I find that the Youth To The People Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser is totally worth the price for a few reasons. With just 1-2 pumps being all you really need to clean effectively, it does last a while. It’s also really good. A common misconception in skincare is that your cleanser doesn’t matter, but that’s so totally not true. A good cleanser, that really gets your skin clean and doesn’t irritate it in the process, can make such a substantial difference in the overall health of your skin.
All of this is why the Youth To The People Superfood Cleanser is probably one of the few cleansers I’d recommend to anyone! No matter your skin type, I think everyone would benefit from using this cleanser in their skincare routine. Cleansing shouldn’t ever make your skin feel stripped or parched. Say hello to clean, hydrated, healthy skin!
